How AT&T’s T-Mobile Deal Will Be Reviewed

GlobalEcon’s Chairman David Evans talks to MarketWatch about the proposed AT&T purchase of T-Mobile. AT&T is going to have to convince the Justice Department that the merger isn’t going to raise prices to consumers. AT&T, with a $3 billion breakup fee in the balance, knows that and must at least think it can make a persuasive case to the antitrust watchdog on that point. Whether its evidence is convincing remains to be seen.
