Dr. R Ian McEwin, Director at Global Economics Group, and Dr. Corinne Chew provide a close examination of the facts and significance of one of the first antitrust cases in China. In China”The Baidu Decision, Dr. McEwan and Dr. Chew identify a number of problems and shortcomings with the process of implementing the law. For example, although Baidu is such an important decision in Chinese economic law, the authors caution that the proceedings were conducted in a very short period of time, and as a result, there neither party brought in experts to assist the Court in understanding the economic issues at hand.
